MAKE had re-invented itself in 2004 around legacy code conversion, originally trying to license it's proprietary automated Java and J2EE code-generating tool set, mainly to IT consulting firms. First strategic partners in legacy code conversion services included Sun Microsystems Professional Services Division (now Oracle) and some of their largest customers who were moving from leagacy code bases to Java. Dell has now purchased MAKE with its 100 staff joining Dell's Services Division. Terms of the deal which closes in Dell's Q2 were not disclosed.
