I can see the headline now. Who else would buy Blackberry at this point? Microsoft is now in smartphone penetration position #3 worldwide and things are going well with Nokia; Facebook is doing much better with mobile after moving away from HTML5 and their mobile phone idea with HTC; DELL has it's own issues; Samsung is doing very well with Google's Android OS and also have their own mobile OS if they want to go that route; and, Huawei/Lenovo would never get Canadian Government approval. So that leaves Fairfax Financial who already own close to 10% and a Blackberry ex-Director who knows the inside scoop. Without an Apple or Google-like ecosystem, Blackberry is worth more via separate deals for its various more valuable assets. And they're Canadian as well, eh!!
